Neobi is excited to contribute to this year’s CCX Annual Report with data driven insights derived from several of our data sources. The Extracts category saw strong early-year growth but declined in Q4, likely due to seasonal demand or competition. Innovative product variations and strategic pricing adjustments could help sustain interest and improve market share.

The Edibles category maintained steady growth with a slight Q4 slowdown. Expanding seasonal or limited-edition flavors and promoting healthier options can support continued demand and attract a broader audience.

Pre-rolls experienced the highest growth, particularly in the first half, with a slowdown in Q4. Additional market research can identify factors behind this trend and highlight potential opportunities for product differentiation.

The Flower category grew through Q3 but declined in Q4, indicating competition or shifting preferences. Offering premium and budget friendly variants while optimizing distribution channels could attract diverse consumers and maintain sales volume.

The Beverage category showed slow but steady growth, with a slight Q4 decline. Awareness campaigns and expanded retail presence can educate consumers on their benefits and enhance visibility in the market.

Looking Ahead

To sustain growth, Extracts could introduce water-soluble options and customizable terpene blends, especially in Ontario, which led in product growth. Edibles should incorporate functional ingredients like adaptogens and nootropics, aligning with British Columbia’s rising demand and evolving preferences. Pre-rolls can focus on sustainable packaging and diversified product formats, responding to Saskatchewan’s appetite for innovation. The Flower category can explore micro-dosed options and effect-specific blends to match Alberta’s steady demand and shifting consumer habits. Beverages have potential with ready-to-drink mocktails and hydration-focused products, addressing Manitoba’s earlier growth and increasing interest in wellness-focused consumption.

A proactive approach with product diversification, marketing enhancements, and strategic partnerships will be crucial to sustaining momentum throughout the year.
